Which column height should I choose when buying my Valiryo body dryer?

Discover which column length you should choose based on the available height at the installation location of your body dryer

When you decide to switch to Valiryo’s full-body air drying system, one of the first decisions you need to make (besides the color) is which column height you should choose. In this post, we want to clearly explain when you should opt for each option. This decision mainly depends on the available height in the space where you plan to install Valiryo.

For this reason, it is important to carefully select the installation location, as explained in this post. Please remember that our recommendation is, whenever possible, to install Valiryo inside the shower, as this provides a better and safer user experience by combining washing and drying in the same space. This way, both actions take place in the same environment, at the same temperature, and without the need to move.

Which column heights are available?

Valiryo is available in two different column heights to adapt to different types of spaces:

  • Standard version – 218 cm (85.83 in): designed for conventional ceiling heights.
  • Short version – 195 cm (76.77 in): designed exclusively for spaces with limited height.

When should I choose one version or the other?

Our general recommendation is to choose the Valiryo 218 model if you have 220 cm (86.6 in) or more of available height at the installation location. If your available height is between 197 cm (77.5 in) and 220 cm, then your choice should be Valiryo 195.

However, beyond this general recommendation, there are some important installation considerations to keep in mind. To install Valiryo, a minimum clearance of 2 cm (0.79 in) is required at the top of the column in order to fit the column together with the housing during installation. For this reason, if your available height is exactly 220 cm (86.6 in), the Valiryo 218 will be installed flush with the floor, without leaving the recommended 10 cm distance from the floor, which is ideal for facilitating foot drying through the two lower air diffusers of the column.

Therefore, the ideal installation height for Valiryo 218 is 230 cm (90.5 in), allowing the column to be installed with the recommended 10 cm clearance from the floor.

User height and drying area

You may wonder why we still recommend choosing Valiryo 218 if your available height is between 220 cm (86.6 in) and 230 cm (90.5 in), even if it is not possible to leave the full 10 cm distance from the floor. The reason is the drying area. The 218 version provides a larger and more comfortable drying zone, suitable for users of different heights. The 195 version, on the other hand, is designed exclusively for spaces with limited height and requires a minimum ceiling height of 197 cm (77.5 in) for installation.

If your installation height is between 220 cm (86.6 in) and 230 cm (90.5 in), you can technically choose either model depending on the drying area you need based on your own height. The length of each column up to the point where the curvature begins is as follows:

  • Valiryo 218: 176 cm (69.29 in) from the floor to the beginning of the curvature, adapting comfortably to users of virtually any height.
  • Valiryo 195: 157 cm (61.81 in) from the floor to the beginning of the curvature. As a result, users taller than 170 cm (66.93 in) will experience a reduced drying area, making the drying experience less comfortable.

For this reason, we always recommend installing Valiryo 218 whenever possible, and choosing Valiryo 195 only when the installation space is limited in height. If you cannot follow the recommendation of installing Valiryo with a 10 cm (3.94 in) clearance from the floor, you can adjust the installation according to your needs, even installing the column flush with the floor if necessary.

At what height should each column be installed?

Although you can find all installation details in our dedicated installation post, we would like to clearly summarize the recommended installation height for each version of the Valiryo body dryer:

  • Valiryo 195: install the column 2 cm (0.8 in) below the ceiling, so that it is positioned as high as possible and provides the maximum available drying space. .
  • Valiryo 218: install the column leaving a maximum clearance of 10 cm (3.9 in) from the floor, adjusting this distance according to the available height at the installation location.
